Time Tracking
Why We Track Time
Two reasons:
- Per diem. Your per diem is calculated automatically from the hours you log. No separate forms, no expense reports — just log your time and it's handled.
- Visibility. When we track time by project, everyone can see where our effort goes. That helps us staff jobs better, price work accurately, and make sure no one's overloaded.
Accurate time logging is the one thing that makes both of these work.
How to Log Time
- Open your assigned task in the Timesheets app (or from the project/task directly)
- Go to the Time Entries tab
- Click Log time and enter your hours for the day
- Include all time away from home or office: travel, on-site work, and wrap-up
Your time is calculated door-to-door — your clock starts when you leave home and stops when you get back.
Travel on multi-client trips
If you're serving multiple clients on one trip, log all your travel time to the first ticket. Your ops manager will split it across the other tickets during their weekly review. You don't need to do the math.
Per Diem
Nugget uses a per diem model to simplify travel expenses. Use your Nugget credit card for hotels, flights, and transportation directly. Per diem is yours to use for food, coffee, entertainment — whatever you want. No receipts needed.
| Hours away from home/office | Per diem |
|---|---|
| 8 or more hours | $100 (full day) |
| 4 to 8 hours | $50 (half day) |
| Less than 4 hours | None |
Hours are totaled across all eligible jobs for the day. Two jobs in one day both count toward your total.
Per diem is paid out with your next paycheck, in addition to your regular compensation.
Which jobs qualify?
Your dispatcher marks jobs as Per Diem Eligible when they create them. If you think a job should be eligible but isn't, ask your dispatcher.
Scenarios
Full day: You fly out at 8 AM and return at 8 PM. That's 12 hours door-to-door. You earn $100.
Split days: You leave at 2 PM Monday and return 7 AM Tuesday. Monday = 10 hours ($100). Tuesday = 7 hours ($100 if on an eligible job).
Multi-day: You leave 9 AM Day 1, return 5 PM Day 2. $100 each day, $200 total.
Half day: You drive to a client site, leave at 8 AM, home by 1 PM. That's 5 hours. $50.
After You Log Time
You're done. Here's what happens next without any action from you:
- Your per diem record is created automatically when you save your time entry
- Your ops manager validates your timesheet weekly
- Accounting posts the labor costs monthly
